New Year, New Update

Oh dear, it’s been far too long since I’ve updated this blog. I’m so sorry dear readers!
But I’m back! I will try to make sure that at the very least, I’m giving you a monthly update.

What I’m currently working on:

The Crystal Crown – it’s a short story in the Tales of Alsban series that introduces a new world that I will be exploring, it’s written in a Lord Dunsay style and I’ll be adding accompanying illustration plates to it.

Chronicles of Avantir – This is a novel, it won’t be out for a while as I first need to convert everything from OCR to English text before I even begin editing it. It is the main novel that the Tales of Alsban is connected to.

The Sword of Justice – It seems like I’ve been working on this novel forever! But it is the novel where I began working out my process. There are no typical processes for what I am doing with this novel, even my editor has had to think outside the box with how to help me. But I’m getting it!
At the moment, I am working backwards from a rough manuscript and breaking it down into an outline. I’ve learned from this that my own writing process is that I am largely a discovery writer who sometimes uses a rough outline. Recognizing this doesn’t mean that I hate outlines, what it means is that I encounter resistance within myself that I have to overcome in order to create outlines for stories. In this case and in this process an outline is the only way that I am going to be able to fix the structural issues in this story.
Having said that, I’m super excited to be back working on this novel! I miss the characters and want to flesh out more scenes with them. They are a lot of fun and I can’t wait to share their adventures with you!

Are you sure you mean Alsban and not Asbaln?

Oops! I’m pretty sure that I meant Alsban and not Asbaln, that is definitely a typo!

Looking for a Great Book to Read? Look No Further!

To speak of Ardan the Grim is to speak of many things. One must tell of how he was the last in a line of men who had stood for far Tharid. A line descended from Ardan the Fair, who left Asbaln that there should be no quarrels with his brother, Randell of Avantir. Both of them being sons of the famous Guardian of the Sword of Avantir, Rorick. Wyrta the seer spoke to him in these words: "In the twentieth year, on spring's first day, seek a path to the West away. Go to the land of the Silver Hair, for thy fate does await thee there." Years after Rorick and Conel rode forth to free the land of Asbaln from the barbaric tribes, comes one man who will ride forth to save the kingdom and he will wear... The Crystal Crown.
